Yesterday I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. My blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high, I'd gained some weight, and I didn't feel so hot.

My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would solve my physical problems. He said just think in colors; Fill your plate with bright colors; greens, yellows, reds, etc....

I went right home and ate an entire bowl of M&M's and sure enough, I felt better immediately. I never know eating right could be so easy!!!

Three friends from the local congregation were asked "When you're in your casket, and friends and congregation members are mourning over you, what would you like them to say?"

Artie said: "I would like them to say I was a wonderful husband, a fine spiritual leader, and a great family man."

Eugene commented: "I would like them to say I was a wonderful teacher and servant of God who made a huge difference in peoples lives."

Don said: "I'd like them to say, "Look, he's moving!!"

A group of seniors were sitting around talking about all their ailments.

"My arms have gotten so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee," said one.

"Yes, I know," said another. "My cataracts are so bad; I can't even see my coffee."

"I couldn't even mark an "X" at election time, my hands are so crippled," volunteered a third.

"What? Speak up! What? I can't hear you!"

"I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck," said a fourth, to which several nodded weakly in agreement.

"My blood pressure pills make me so dizzy!" exclaimed another.

"I forget where I am, and where I'm going," said another.

"I guess that's the price we pay for getting old," winced an old man as he slowly shook his head.

The others nodded in agreement.

"Well, count your Blessings," said a woman cheerfully--"we can all still drive!"

The world famous group "Santa and the Reindeer" came to Doctors today and sang for us!!

Some of their groupies even got their picture taken with the elusive group. The group sang all the favorites including "Here Comes Santa Claus", "Deck the Halls", and "Rudolph" who was, unfortunately, unable to be here due to a little laryngitis.

Please pay no mind to the Grinch in the picture! He may look a little "grinchy" but I even saw him singing when he thought no one was looking!!

Two elderly women were eating breakfast in a restaurant one morning. Ethel noticed something funny about Mabel's ear and she said, "Mabel, do you know you've got a suppository in your left ear?"

Mable answered, "I have a suppository in my ear?" She pulled it out and stared at it. Then she said, "Ethel, I'm glad you saw this thing. Now I think I know where to find my hearing aid."

Gonna Be A Bear

GONNA BE A BEAR

In this life I'm a woman. In my next life, I'd like to come back as a bear. When you're a bear, you get to hibernate. You do nothing but sleep for six months. I could deal with that!

Before you hibernate, you're supposed to eat yourself stupid. I could deal with that too!!

When you're a girl bear, you birth your children (who are the size of walnuts) while you're sleeping and wake to partially grown, cute, cuddly cubs. I could definitely deal with that!

If you're a mama bear, everyone knows you mean business. You swat anyone who bothers your cubs. If your cubs get out of line, you swat them too. I could deal with that.

If you're a bear, your mate EXPECTS you to wake up growling. He EXPECTS that you will have hairy legs and excess body fat.

Yup, gonna be a bear.

With great expression he said, “If I had all the beer in the world, I’d take it and throw it into the river.”
With even great emphasis he said, “And if I had all the wine in the world I’d take it and throw it into the river.” He sat down.
The song leader the stood very cautiously and announced with a smile, “For our closing song, let us sing Hymn #365:

Hillbilly Theme Meal

Well, if you didn't make it to Hillbilly Theme night.....boy, did you miss out!! The vittles were lip-smackin' good. We had us some fried pigeon, cream of possum soup, BBQ squirrel, along with some mashed taters, beans and dirt cake!

Our next theme meal will be our Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 17 @ 12:00. See ya'll there, lord willin and the crik don't rise!!

Luau!!

A great time was had by all at the Luau!! The food was awesome thanks to our great kitchen staff. A special thanks goes to Bubble-Up, the husband of our activity director, Trish Phillips. Bubble-Up smoked our pork roast and ham and I have to tell you....it just melted in our mouths!! He did a GREAT job!! Thanks, Bubble-Up!! Thanks to all our family members who came out to enjoy the evening with all of us. We so enjoy spending time with you and your loved ones. If you see our activity director, Trish, make sure to tell her what a great job she did decorating and planning the meal. She works really hard to make our theme meals the success that they are.

Be ready!! We have another theme meal coming in October and I'm not telling the theme but will say "We is goin to have us a hootin n hollerin gud time!!"

I got a lot of rest. Everyone has been very nice. The therapy is very good. They wear you out but it's all for the good. The best place to come if you need therapy. The facility is clean. Therapy isn't the same when Sam is off. He is good and is a lot of fun...

The nurses & CNA's are very good and very friendly. The facility is very clean, I never believed in physical therapy, thought is was a waste of time until I had to have therapy myself. The therapy department is wonderful here. If i ever had to go back to a nursing home it would be here.

Doctors did fine. I'm leaving after 5 weeks of therapy. The CNA's went out of their way to make me feel more comfortable. Nurse Christina Ellis was the best nurse in the world.

Well I went to therapy they did a wonder for me--I can walk by myself again. I have my jewelry on and my nails painted and I'm ready to go home. I'm returning home to my daughter in Salem. I feel like I'm losing a very good special friend with leaving Doctors.

I have peace of mind at night when i leave that my husband, Forrest Martin, is well taken care of. The therapy deepartment here at Doctors Nursing and Rehab is just wonderful. Sam is great!

My mother, Janet Krueger, is a resident at Doctors Nursing and Rehabilitation. The therapy department has been working with her and she is progressing very well. She uses a walker and is able to go everywhere in the facility. We are so happy with our experience. Most importantly I don't have to worry about my mother. They take very good care of her.

This was my 3rd visit to Doctor Nursing and Rehabilitation for therapy services. I received my therapy and was able to walk and returned home. I feel that I am Grandma to everyone in the therapy department. I tell everyone how great Doctors therapy is and if they want to return home they need to go to Doctors Nursing and Rehab.
